DORINE

You know I love you, Luigi. And I trust you. But are you sure it’s gonna work? You’re not just putting in lots of money to impress me? I know you by now. You like to impress. What if the money runs out? If it turns out to be economically unfeasible?

 

LUIGI

It won’t. Trust me, it won’t. We’ve crunched all the numbers a dozen times. The model is correct. We’re doing well for more than 6 months now. And you know as well as I: consumers all over the world are willing to pay for honest products and sustainability.

 

DORINE

You know what? Provide me the numbers from last 6 months, so I can check them. It would be a good way for me to learn the business, don’t you think?

 

LUIGI

You’re crazy but that’s probably what I like about you. I’ll make sure you get them. I don’t wanna hide them from you.

 

INT. UTAH OLYMPIC OVAL OFFICE  ––  DAY

Dorine sits at the desk, opposite Arne Winterbottom.

 

ARNE

I went through the files you gave me. But I see a lot of things that are incorrect. Or not properly calculated for the medium term. I’m sorry to tell you this, Dorine.

 

DORINE

Well, that’s rather shocking. Are you sure about this? How do you know? I mean, you’re a top accountant, but these numbers are based on a whole different business model. Not like in the US.

 

ARNE

In fact, it’s not so unusual for the types of businesses that Luigi has been running. His style of embellishing numbers has been detected before. The Penguin confirmed that he...

 

DORINE

I’m sorry, Arne. But what does The Penguin have to do with this. He’s a big mafia boss over there in China.

 

ARNE

DORINE

DORINE

Arne is surprised. He avoids to look into her eyes. Small beads of sweat appear on his distinguished forehead.

 

ARNE

Well, don’t know the exact details. Like I said, it was a horrific accident. It took a long time to identify the body.

 

DORINE

Arne, when exactly did you find out that we had escaped from the Olympic Village to go to those parties? Were you on guard all night?

 

ARNE (stammers)

DORINE

Johnny takes care. Thank you, Arne.

 

She gets up and walks away, understanding that Arne had been working for The Penguin all along.

Dorine and Luigi are having dinner.

 

LUIGI

So did you and Winterbottom go through the numbers?

 

Dorine looks him in the eyes.

 

DORINE

Luigi, let’s get married. You still have that ring?

 

EXT. POSH BEACH RESORT, THAILAND  --  DAY

Dorine and Luigi throw a luxurious wedding party. Phum is master of ceremony. Dorine's skating colleagues are there: Andrea and Gunnar, Naomi (with Heinrich Braun), Janet, Sloan, even Harold. Jeff Neuhaus. Lyubov and Peter, who have found each other as soulmates.
